Three killed in separate encounters, 55 injured in violences during Eid vacation

          Three alleged terrorists were killed in separate incidents of encounters with law enforcing agencies and about 55 people injured in separate violences during the Eid vacation across the country, report agencies.
In Khulna, a regional leader of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party was killed in a shootout between his cohorts and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Rayermahal Pashchimpara area of the city early Tuesday.
RAB sources said they arrested Mohammad Mizanur Rahman (38) from Rayermahal area Monday.
According to his statement, RAB-6 conducted several raids in different areas of the city to recover illegal firearms and ammunition. During the raid, when they reached Rayermahal Pashchimpara at about 4:15 am with Mizan, his associates opened fire on the RAB forcing the elite force to fire back.
Mizan was caught in crossfire while trying to flee from the scene and died on the spot. One pistol, one pipe-gun and nine rounds of bullet were recovered from the spot.
Police sources said Mizan was wanted in 16 cases, including four murders.
In Narsingdi, a top terror was killed in a shootout between his associates and police in Madarganj of the district town Tuesday night.
Police sources said they arrested Nuruzzaman alias Nuru (30) a notorious criminal from his house at Dattapara in Sadar thana at about 1:45 pm Tuesday.
A team of Sadar thana police along with Nuru conducted several raids the same night in different parts of the town to recover illegal arms. When they reached Helipad area near Madarganj railway line at about 10:30 pm, Nuru's associates opened fire on the police team forcing the law enforcers to fire back.
Nuru was caught in crossfire while trying to escape and died on the spot. Police later recovered two LG and two rounds of bullet from the spot.
Police said Nuru was wanted in connection with nine cases, including illegal possession of arms and extortion.
In Munshiganj, a youth died in police custody in Sirajdikhan Upazila Wednesday afternoon, but his family members claimed that he was beaten to death by the police.
The youth was identified as Suman (22) a bus driver and son of Sohrab Miah of Ichhapura village in Sirajdikhan Upazila.
Suman was arrested by Sirajdikhan police at about 12 pm Wednesday on charge of keeping four home-made bombs at the house of Kamal of the same village.
Sirajdikhan thana sources said Suman tried to commit suicide by tying a blanket around his throat at 4 pm.
In Bhola, at least 15 people were injured, seven of them bullet-hit, in an armed clash between the activists of Awami League and BNP in Badarpur union of Lalmohan Upazila Tuesday morning.
Local sources said the clash started at about 11 am when some AL activists were returning home ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
Four BNP and three AL men received bullet injuries in a series of clashes, which saw both sides using guns. A motorcycle was set on fire during the clash.
Of the bullet-injured, Chhatra Dal leader Shamsuddin Jasim, Bashir Hawlader and Mohammad Maksud, and AL leader Matin have been admitted to hospital.
In Brahmanbaria, at least 40 people were injured during a clash between two rival groups over the construction of Birampur cross-dam Thursday morning.
Among the injured, five persons were admitted to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital in a critical condition.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
