RANGAMATI, Dec 17 (BSS): The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) has begun implementing five new projects involving Tk 33.0 million (3.30 crore) alongside other projects for socio-economic development, officials said. The new projects include construction of a bridge on the Shangka River, setting up of check-posts to ensure security in the region, mango and mixed crops cultivation and construction of Khagrachhari town hall. The board has implemented 1,560 schemes costing about Tk 1.28 billion since its inception in 1976. Thirty- seven projects costing about Tk 6.0 billion are now being implemented in the three hill districts under the special allocation of the government.
