DSE indices mixed, CSE’s gain

          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed mixed, while those on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) posted gains Monday in moderate trading.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1304.34 points, registering 1.51 points or 0.11 per cent decline from 1305.85 points of Sunday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index also decreased by 0.97 points or 0.06 per cent to close at 1711.52 points from 1712.49 points of the previous day.
The DSE-20 Index, however, gained by 5.22 points or 0.32 per cent to close at 1608.87 points from 1603.65 points.
About 2.77 million shares and debentures worth Tk 225.11 million changed hands on the day against 1.34 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 128.94 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 172 issues were traded on the day including 105 gainers, 49 losers and 18 remaining unchanged on the day, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 237.11 billion from Tk 237.37 billion.
Summit Power was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day with its 45,350 shares valued at Tk 20.51 million being traded. The price of the issue went up by 1.11 per cent to close at Tk 452.25. Its price varied between Tk 456.50 and Tk 447.50 on the day.
Square Textile was the significant performer on the day. Its 185,550 shares valued at Tk 16.15 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 7.72 per cent to close at Tk 89.20. Its price fluctuated between Tk 89.40 and Tk 82.90 on the day.
Padma Textiles was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day. Its 367,400 shares worth Tk 8.33 million were traded. The price of the issue went up by 3.61 per cent to close at Tk 22.90 on the day.
Eagle Star Textile was the top gainer on the day, as its price rose by 27.65 per cent to close at Tk 6.00. Its 40,100 shares valued at Tk 215,800.00 changed hands on the day.
The price indices on the CSE gained on the day as the trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also increased on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index went up by 0.11 per cent to finish at 3411.94 points from 3408.24 points of Sunday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index gained by 0.52 per cent to close at 3190.15 points from 3173.77 points.
A total of 1.53 million shares and debentures worth Tk 59.48 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 0.66 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 28.67 million of the previous day.
A total of 73 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 38 gained, 28 lost grounds and seven remained unchanged.
Padma Textiles was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its price went up by 4.07 per cent to close at Tk 23.00 from Tk 22.10. Some 272,800 of its shares valued at Tk 6.21 million were transacted on the day.
Rose Haven Ball Pen was the top gaining issue on the day. The price of the issue increased by 35.71 per cent to close at Tk 1.90 from Tk 1.40. Its 11,500 shares worth Tk 21,050.00 changed hands on the day.
Beximco Pharma was a significant trade turnover leader, in terms of value, with its 92,903 shares valued at Tk 5.63 million being transacted on the day.
