Bangladesh Trade Fair ends in Colombo today
1/24/2006

A four-day Bangladesh Single Country Trade Fair, which generated much enthusiasm among the members of the Sri Lankan business community, will end in Colombo today (Tuesday), reports BSS.
The fair, inaugurated by Commerce Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and his Sri Lankan counterpart Jeyaraj Fernandopulle in Colombo on January 20 has received a wide media coverage by the local print and electronic media.
A good number of Sri Lankan nationals as well as businessmen, buying houses and high officials visited the stalls, said a press release Monday.
Sri Lankan Minister for Healthcare and Nutrition and government spokesperson Nimal Sirpala De Silva visited the fair Sunday. He visited almost all the stalls and inspected the products.
He was deeply impressed by the Bangladeshi exportable products displayed in the fair. De Silva is scheduled to visit Bangladesh this week and is expected to meet some of Bangladeshi businessmen. Sri Lanka is planning to hold a similar fair in Dhaka this year.
Earlier, during his visit to Colombo, Commerce Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury had a very fruitful meeting with the Sri Lankan Health Minister.
