Temperatures slide as cold wave loses bite

          Temperatures have fallen by one to three degrees Celsius across the country Sunday night and a mild cold wave that has begun blowing over the Rajshahi division, Srimangal, Mymensingh, Tangail, Jessore and Chuadanga Regions may continue today (Tuesday),reports BSS.
The mild cold wave may spill over the adjoining areas, the met office said.
Srimangal in the north east recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 6.6 Celsius Monday when the mercury count was taken early in the morning.
It was followed by 7.8 C at Rajshahi, 8.6 C at Ishurdi,, 9.7 C at Bogra, 9.8 C in Rangpur, 9.4 C at Dinajpur and 9.5 C in Jessore.
Dhaka city recorded 10.4 C falling down from 13.1 C Sunday.
Mymensingh had 10 C sliding from 11.4 C,Tangail had 8.8 C against 11.5 C and Faridpur recorded 9.9 C from 12.6 C.
The met forecast for the next 24 hours beginning at 9.0 am Monday said that the weather may remain dry over the country.
Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged. Light fog may occur in the early hours to clear in the morning, it added.
