Advance computer training project opens at Mymensingh TTC
KOICA pledges continued support
FE Report
1/24/2006

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) jointly inaugurated an advance computer training project in the Technical Training Centre (TTC) of Mymensingh Monday.
KOICA's Resident Representative in Dhaka Lee Jung Wook and BMET Director Md Ahsan Habib recently signed an agreement for official commencement of the project.
The project, second of its kind by KOICA in TTC, is being implemented by a Korean overseas volunteer (KOV) team to provide advance computer training to the instructors and students of the TTC.
As part of the project, the KOV team has established a modern lab with latest computers, printers, multimedia and office equipment which they will use for imparting training to the teachers and students. The project will be sustained by the TTC after completion in July 2006.
The KOICA representative, while speaking on the occasion, said that plans were under way to send more KOV teams to the TTCs later.
KOICA has been regularly dispatching volunteers to Bangladesh since the signing of a bilateral agreement between Bangladesh and Korea in 1993 to contribute to the social and economic development of the country through their voluntary services.
Around 60 volunteers are presently working in the country in the field of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, community development, ICT and health sectors.
