Rafique, Ashraful BSWA sportsmen of the year

          Mohammad Rafique and Mohammad Ashraful were awarded with the S A Mohsin Trophy, the sportsman of the year, for the year 2003 and 2004 respectively by Bangladesh Sports Writers Association (BSWA) Friday, reports BDNEWS.
Veteran national footballer and the Water Resources Minister Hafizuddin Ahmed handed over the awards as the chief guest at a hotel in the city.
A total of 20 players, organisers and officials were awarded for the year 2003 and 2004. Among them 12 awards were given for the year of 2004.
Habibul Bashar Sumon (Cricket), Matiur Munna (Football), Abul Hashem (Coach), Mahbubur Rahman (Umpire), Shaheen Mahmud (Organiser), Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (Patron) and Chess Federation (Active Federation) received the awards for the year of 2003.
Khaled Mashud Pilot (Cricket), Rubel Rana (Swimming), Fouzia Huda Jui (Athletics), Zahid Hossain (Hockey), Bidyut Kumar Roy (Weightlifting), Sharmin Akhtar (Shooting), Shafiqul Islam Manik (Coach), Akhtaruddin Shaheen (Umpire), Lotus Kamal (Organiser), Partex Group (Patron) and Narail District Sports Association (Active Association).
Besides, Director of Abahani Ltd Kazi Shahed Ahmed and Dulu Afendi organiser of Narayanganj District were awarded for their contributions to the country's sports. Players, veteran players, sports organisers, coaches and journalists were present on the occasion.
