Members of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) elected Monday four new directors to the governing body of the bourse for the 2006-08 period. The elected directors are Sharif Ataur Rahman, Abdullah Bokhari, Shahed Abdul Khaleque and Azizul Haque. Five candidates contested in the election, which took place from 10-00 am to 4-00 pm without any break. Out of 209 members, 178 cast votes. The new directors will replace the same number of policy-makers in the present board of directors. As per constitutional provision, four incumbent directors Feroz Khan, Rafiqul Islam, Saiful Islam and Mujibur Rahman- will retire from the governing body of DSE. The next annual general meeting of DSE will be held on February 7 to formally induct the newly elected directors in to the board.
