Three Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims are feared killed in a hotel collapse near the main gate of Ka'ba sharif, according to initial reports available from Makkah Thursday, reports UNB. When contacted, Mahbubur Rahman, an official at Bangladesh Hajj Mission Makkah, told the news agency on telephone at 8:00 pm that they were yet to receive any official confirmation about the casualty of Bangladeshi hajis in the hotel collapse. "Our people who were sent to the scene are yet to return and report to the Hajj Mission," he said, adding, "we've heard that three Bangladeshi hajis were (among those) killed." They perhaps went for shopping to a market where the hotel building collapsed.
Rahman said it was difficult to collect the exact information as Saudi police and army cordoned off the area. Earlier an AP report from Saudi Arabia said a hotel at Mecca collapsed Thursday, security officials said. Pan-Arab satellite television broadcasters reported dozens were killed or injured. The television reports said the Louloat al-Kheir, while security officials said the Al-Ghaza Hotel had collapsed.
