Holcim to supply bulk cement to FE&A's RMC plant
FE Report
1/6/2006

Holcim (Bangladesh) Limited has signed an agreement with the FE&A Limited for supplying bulk cement to run the latter’s ready-mix concrete (RMC) manufacturing plant.
General Manager (Customer Care) of the Holcim Niaz Uddin Mahmood and Director of the FE&A Lela I Qyma signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in the city recently, said a press release.
Under the deal, the Holcim will supply all required bulk cement exclusively to run the RMC plant of FE&A situated at Jirabo, Ashulia.
The concept of RMC is new in the construction sector of Bangladesh although it has long been used in the developing world, the release added.
Using RMC has many advantages including required extra space at construction site because concrete is carried just to the construction point by special type of mixture vehicle, avoids long-time waiting to gain strength and above all gives hassle-free construction in comparison to traditional making of concrete at construction site.
There are very few RMC units in and around Dhaka, the release further added.
