FM urges expatriates to invest in Bangladesh

          Foreign Minister (FM) M Morshed Khan Sunday called upon the affluent Bangladeshi expatriates to make large-scale investment in Bangladesh to help boost the country's economy further, report agencies.
He made the call while a delegation of the Tower Hamlet of London led by its Mayor Doros Ullah paid a courtesy call on him at his office in the city.
The team is visiting Bangladesh on an invitation of Dhaka City Corporation.
The foreign minister stated that Bangladesh is a unique place for investment with huge potentialities. The Government has been pursuing a liberal investment policy and providing incentive packages to the investors of home and abroad, said the Minister adding that Bangladesh origin London citizens could avail of those opportunities.
"The Londoners of Bangladeshi origin can avail of these opportunities," he told the delegation.
The foreign minister lauded the role of the Council of the Tower Hamlet for its contribution to the UK and expressed the hope they would also put in their best efforts in further developing the economy of their homeland, Bangladesh.
Mayor of Tower Hamlet informed the foreign minister the Bangladeshi expatriates are willing to invest in different sectors of Bangladesh.
"The Council has been working for the welfare of Bangladeshi community in London," he said and expressed his keenness to share each other's experience in various fields for the development of both the countries.
