JESSORE, Jan 8 (BDNEWS): Police held three members of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from different villages of Sharsha Upazila in Jessore early Sunday. The arrested are, Anwarul Hossain (28) of Sonagati village, Nurul Islam (45) of the village Bhaduri, and Abdul Haque (35) of Sonatankathi under the Sharsha Upazila. Police said the commander-in-charge of the militant outfit for Sharsha-Jhikargachha Upazila, Matiur Rahman (31) was arrested from Daulatpur of Khulna on December 31. The latest arrest of three JMB members is a continuation of the drive against the militants. Meanwhile, the banned militant outfit JMB in a letter to the deputy commissioner (DC) of Joypurhat threatened to blow up district administration and judge court buildings. DC Mohibul Hossain said an anonymous JMB suicide squad member issued the threat in the letter. In the wake of the threat security was stepped up at all strategic points of the town including DC's office, judge court building, hospitals, offices of the civil surgeon and police super, and bus terminal. Police super Abdullah Al Azad Chowdhury said joint patrol of police and RAB members have been tightened at all strategic points of the town and on its outskirts.
