Quarterly conference of IBBL held

          A day-long third quarterly conference of heads of zones, corporate branches and branches under Dhaka South and North Zones of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was held Saturday in the city, said a press release.
Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of the Bank Zainul Abedin was present in the concluding session as the chief guest.
Presided over by Executive President of the Bank Abdur Raquib, the session was attended, among others by Mohammad Serajul Islam, member additional secretary of Shariah Council, M Fariduddin Ahmad and ATM. Harun-ur-Rashid Chowdhury, deputy executive presidents of the Bank.
Zainul Abedin said in his speech that IBBL has succeeded in eradicating interest from the root of the society. Islami bankers should be equipped with modern technology, knowledge, intellects, honesty and sincerity to face the challenges.
He said that Islami bankers are involved in a struggle against the capitalist world, which is ruled by interest-based economy.
Abdur Raquib said in his speech that the officials and employees of Islami Bank are working hard with commitment and certain mission and vision.
He said that Islami banking system is now a reality. He praised almighty Allah for giving strength for implementation of Islamic banking, one of the parts of Islam--complete code of life.
He expressed the hope that the new order of economic system would emerge with Islamic economic system.
Earlier in the morning, Kazi Harun-ur-Rashed, chairman, board of directors, as the chief guest, inaugurated the conference.
