B Chy terms PM's recent speech to the nation ‘false, deceiving’
10/16/2005

Bikalap Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) chief AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury has termed the Prime Minister's recent speech to the nation as 'falsehood and deceiving one.'
Chowdhury, who was one of the founders of the ruling BNP, made the observation while addressing as the president a two-day Executive Committee meeting of the BDB at Banani in the city Saturday, reports BDNEWS.
The former president also ruled out the PM's claim of peaceful situation prevailing in the country.
Chowdhury said that Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had confessed her failure and incapability to govern the country, and accused her of failing in running administration as well as referring intelligence failure in resisting countrywide bombings.
He further outright rejected the government's claim of incessant steps to curbing violence saying: Killing of some outlaws by the law enforcers is not a sufficient measure for the purpose.
Joint Secretary General of the party Firoz M Hasan and other leaders also addressed the meeting.
On the other hand, BDB Organising Secretary Mahi B Chowdhury MP demanded arrest of the State Minister for Land Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu terming him as the 'leader' of the Islamic militants.
Dulu, however, ruled out the allegations.
Mahi made the demand while addressing a demonstration organised by the party's city unit demanding punitive actions against the government high-ups who are allegedly patronising the militants.
The agitated activists of BDB also burnt an effigy of Dulu.
