Tarique to start electioneering next month at grassroots level
10/16/2005

The ruling BNP will start it's electioneering at grass-roots level across the country from the next month immediately after the Eid-ul-Fitr, reports BDNEWS.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman disclosed this Saturday to aware the district and thana level party leaders to devote themselves on pro-election activities so that they might back to the power in the next general elections due in 2007.
"I hope that you (partymen) will see me in the field from the next month," he said while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day conference on 'Pre-Election Discussion and Iftar' at the Pradhanmontri Bhaban in the city.
He also asked the thana, municipality and district level leaders to chalk out their programmes accordingly.
He stressed the need for unity and discipline to beat the opponents. "Be loyal to the party and party-manifesto.... not to the 'nomination'."
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives minister said: ''Everybody will have to work on behalf of the candidate who will be picked up by party high-ups.''
He also warned tougher action including expulsion from the party against those who violates party decision.
