Iajuddin for tech transfer to raise agri output
10/16/2005

President Iajuddin Ahmed underlined Saturday the need for exchanging information, transferring technology and holding dialogue among various countries to raise agricultural production, reports BSS.
"Exchange of information and culture, technology transfer, communication and dialogue among various countries can play an important role in raising agricultural production," he said in a message on the eve of the World Food Day.
Iajuddin said this year's theme of the day "Agriculture and Inter-Cultural Dialogue" is significant. He said the main component of food comes from agriculture though food habit, lifestyle and culture of the people across the world.
Describing Bangladesh as an agri-based country, he said the country has achieved self-sufficiency in food production due to concerted efforts taken by the country's agricultural scientists, extension and field workers, and farmers dedicated to agriculture.
