SYDNEY, Oct 17 (BBC): Australia's spinners ripped through the World XI to record a convincing 210-run victory day four of the Super Series Test in Sydney.
Stuart MacGill took four wickets Monday and Shane Warne three as the World XI were all out for 144.
Resuming on 25-2, the World XI lost Rahul Dravid (23), Brian Lara (36) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (0) before lunch.
And with the exception of Jacques Kallis, who was unbeaten on 39, the rest of the batsmen surrendered meekly.
MacGill ended with figures of 5-43 off 15 overs and Warne took 3-48 off 19.
The World XI's hopes were pinned on India skipper Dravid and West Indies' Lara to build a solid foundation from which to launch their assault.
But Dravid was caught early on by Matthew Hayden before wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist pouched Lara at the second attempt.
Lee's spearing yorker sent Inzamam packing as the World XI reached the lunch interval struggling on 113-5.
Kallis and Flintoff put on 52 either side of the break and threatened to turn the tide of the match.
But Australia sniffed their chance when MacGill coaxed Flintoff into a big hit, only to be caught by Brad Hodge at mid-wicket for 15.
South Africa's Mark Boucher joined countryman Kallis for some brief resistance but he fell for 17, caught by Hayden at slip off Warne.
Australia's twin spin attack was paying dividends as MacGill pounced three overs later to remove Kiwi Daniel Vettori, caught by Ricky Ponting for nought.
With the very next delivery, MacGill trapped England's Stephen Harmison lbw without scoring and three balls later he wrapped up the victory as Gilchrist stumped Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan, also for a duck.
