A Speedy Trial Tribunal in the city sentenced Tuesday four people to death while another to life-term imprisonment in Liton murder case. The condemned convicts are: Saifullah Al Mahmud Tanvir (24), M Nurul Haque alias Nuru (20), M Alamgir alias Sujan (25) and M Babu (22). Safia Begum (30) was awarded life-term imprisonment and fined Tk 1,000, in default, to suffer six months more in jail. But the court acquitted two others -- M Amir Hossain and M Johnny -- as the allegation brought against them could not be proved. . — UNB
