Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sits with the national cricketers today (Sunday) to discuss about new contract and other matters, reports BDNEWS. BCB General Secretary Mahbub Anam told newsmen Saturday the one-year pay-package of the cricketers expired Friday. We are going to bring the cricketers under a new contract or payroll after discussing each and every cricketer separately. Apart from Anam, BCB President Ali Ashgar Lobi, vice presidents and joint secretary are likely to attend the meeting at BCB management office in the city, informed the BCB general secretary. He said the board would present its expectation to the players and want to know the players' expectation from the board. "Earlier we sat with the captain and vice-captain several times to know the condition of the team, now we want to sit with all the team members to get a picture," Mahbub Anam added. He also said the BCB is going to introduce a new grade of payroll for the senior players called A+ along with the previous A, B, C and rookie. "We are yet to finalise the structure of the new payroll. We want to finalise it after the discussion with the cricketers," Anam said, "We want to form a balance structure of payroll." Eleven players were under A, B and C categories of the just-concluded payroll while four under rookie contract. The second one was series basis. The grade players were Habibul Bashar, Khaled Mashud, Khaled Mahmud, Javed Omar, Mohammad Rafique, Mohammad Ashraful, Mashrafee bin Murtaza, Rajin Saleh, Tapash Baishya, Mushfiqur Rahman and Manjarul Islam. Nafees Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Enamul Haque Junior and Nazmul Hossain were under the rookie grade payroll. Mahbub Anam said they were going to make the national selectors mandatory to watch the upcoming national cricket league's matches. He added the board would arrange a two-day practice for the national players between the break of every two league matches.
