Flood fury intensifies in N-region

          RAJSHAHI, Oct 7: The overall flood situation in Naogaon and Rajshahi districts deteriorated further with inundation of more areas as the on-rush of rainwater from the upper catchment areas of India continued to engulf fresh areas.
The flood situation in Naogaon Sadar Upazila, including Naogoan town is getting worse. Most parts of the district is now inundated under knee-deep to waist-deep flood water.
Over 80 per cent of the town have been submerged by flood water. The plight of dwellers knows no bounds as the same has entered most of the homesteads.
Specially, during the holy month of Ramadan, the problem of cooking and managing food has turned critical.
The devotees cannot proceed towards mosques for saying their prayers as all the ways have been inundated by flood water.
According to Water Development Board sources, the water level of the river Chhoto Jamuna has crossed 80 centimetres and that of the Atrai 42 centimetres above the danger mark.
