KUSHTIA, Oct 7 (BDNEWS): At least five people were injured in clashes between the supporters of the president's and the general secretary's groups of the workers association over the charge of embezzlement of money at the Islamic University of the district, witnesses said Friday.
The injured are Amirul Islam, Jahangir Mollah, Mofazzal Hossain Lal, Narayan Chandra Karmaker and Kutubuddin.
The clashes occurred Thursday when president of the workers association Abdul Latif cut Tk 175 from the summer dress allowance of Tk 1,175 for the workers in the name of various costs including value added tax (VAT) and general secretary Belal Hossain protested it.
