Strauss likely to miss final Pak Test
11/1/2005

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, Oct 31 (AFP): England opener Andrew Strauss is likely to miss the final Test against Pakistan to be with his wife who is expecting their first child, an official said Monday.
"Strauss has asked for permission to miss the final Test which the team management has granted him but it may be reviewed after his wife's reports from England," England media manager Andrew Walpole told the news agency.
The couple are expecting their child in the last week of next month, a few days before the third Test starts in Lahore on November 29.
Strauss, who has been a star in England's consecutive six series wins in his short career of 19 Tests, had a dismal first day of the tour after he was dimissed for just five in England's opening three-day match Monday.
