CSE price indices close higher

          The price indices on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) gained Sunday as the gainers outplayed the losers in thin trading.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, however, decreased on the day while the prime bourse of the country, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), remained closed.
The CSE All Share Price Index increased by 0.75 per cent to finish at 3458.25 points from 3432.32 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index rose by 0.04 per cent to close at 3224.77 points from 3223.30 points.
A total of 0.41 million shares and debentures worth Tk 35.01 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 0.91 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 44.01 million.
A total of 58 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 27 gained, 24 lost grounds and seven remained unchanged.
ICB was the top gaining issue on the day. Its price rose by 20.00 per cent to close at Tk 174.00 from Tk 145.00. Some 50 of its shares valued at Tk 8,700.00 were transacted on the day.
Chictex was the top losing issue on the day. The price of the issue decreased by 5.26 per cent to close at Tk 1.80 from Tk 1.90. Its 2,500 shares worth Tk 4,500.00 changed hands on the day.
NCC Bank was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, with its 14,573 shares valued at Tk 5.46 million transacted on the day. The price of the issue rose by 1.55 per cent to close at Tk 375.50 from Tk 369.75.
ONE Bank Limited was a major performer on the day. Its 12,250 shares worth Tk 3.79 million changed hands on the day. The price of the issue increased by 2.59 per cent to close at Tk 306.00 from Tk 298.00.
