Trawler goes down, passengers' fate unknown
11/16/2005

A trawler with about 50 passengers onboard capsized near Char Kalagachhia under Galachipa Upazila of Patuakhali district Monday afternoon after being chased by pirates. Two survivors Sabuj and Piten informed relatives by phone Tuesday about the accident after reaching the shore of Kalapata at midnight. They do not know the fate of other passengers. Sources said the trawler with about 50 residents of Char Montaz, including women and children, sailed at 1.0pm Monday for Kuakata to see the 'Rash Mela'. —UNB
