JU Act challenged
HC issues rule on government
11/16/2005

Staying the operation of the transfer orders of some 15 Jagannath University teachers, the High Court Tuesday issued rule upon the government to explain why the provision of the Jagannath University (JU) Act 2005 that barred teachers with III class educational background from teaching at the varsity should not be declared illegal, reports UNB.
A division bench of the High Court also issued rule upon the authorities to show cause why the transfer orders issued on October 19 should not be declared unlawful.
Barrister Munshi Ahsan Kabir appeared for the petitioners.
