MEHERPUR, Nov 15: A court here Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment for making bombs. The court also fined him Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more. According to prosecution, when Firatul, a notorious dacoit of Shirpur village, was making bombs at Majhpara village in Mujibnagar upazila under Meherpur district on November 06, 2004, one bomb exploded and local people caught him. He was handed over to police and a case was filed. After examining the records and witnesses, District and Session Judge Abdul Hamid pronounced the verdict. — UNB Body of tribal youth recovered BANDERBAN, Nov 15: The body of a tribal youth was recovered Monday from Baghmara area in Sadar upazila under Bandarban district. Sources said police recovered the decomposed body of Mong Thoai from under a culvert and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. Police said Thoai might have been killed as a result of past enmity. A youth, Angshaihui was arrested in this connection. —UNB 240 tubewells installed for pure drinking water MADARIPUR, Nov 15: A total of 240 deep tubewells have been installed in four upazilas under Madaripur district for supplying arsenic free pure drinking water to the people. —UNB
