Three transport organisations have jointly called a countrywide transport strike for indefinite period protesting the arrest of transport worker leader Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation general secretary Habibur Rahman Khan announced the strike programme following a joint meeting with Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Samity and Bus-Truck Owners Association in Dhaka Sunday. Khan said police arrested regional general secretary of Uttarbanga Sramik Federation and Dinajpur Motor Sramik Federation Mujibur Rahman Saturday from Dinajpur. — BSS
