Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Moudud Ahmed told the Jatiya Sangsad Sunday that the government had taken security measurers on a priority basis for the judges of the country, reports BSS.
Besides providing gunmen, the minister said security arrangements were made while transporting judges to their respective place of work.
Moudud Ahmed also called upon the people of all walks of life to extend their all-out cooperation towards curbing extremism and terrorism that emerged alarmingly in the country.
Earlier, in a statement on the killing of two judges in bomb explosion in Jhalakhathi, State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar informed the House that the trial of the offenders would be held in the Speedy Trial Tribunal.
He also told the House that two separate cases were lodged against the November 14 bomb blasts while one accused had already been arrested.
Babar told the House that one live bomb and a huge number of subversive leaflets were recovered from the arrested persons.
Besides, it was gathered from his confession that he is an active member of the Jama'atual Mujaheedin Bangladesh (JMB) and a close associate of Syakh Abdur Rahman, he said.
The state minister assured the House that nobody would be spared if found responsible for such subversive activities.
"We have taken adequate steps to root out terrorism from the soil of the country," he said adding that measures have been taken throughout the country to arrest the extremists.
"Some of them have already been arrested from Panchagarh and other places," he added.
Babar mentioned that Prime Minister Khaleda Zia had issued a strict order to nab the elements involved in creating anarchy in the society.
He also expressed the hope that the government with people's cooperation would be able to crush the terrorists.
