Outgoing envoy calls on Prime Minister
Brunei urged to recruit more Bangladeshis
11/7/2005

Brunei has been requested to recruit more manpower from Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia made the request while outgoing ambassador of Brunei Paduka Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud made a farewell call on her in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
At present, more than 10,000 Bangladeshis including physicians, engineers and teachers are working in Brunei, according to an official.
Recruitment from Bangladesh by Brunei remained stalled but the embargo was withdrawn following the visit of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia to Brunei last year.
The envoy appreciated the performance of Bangladeshi workers and termed them hardworking, sincere and easily adaptable.
Abdul Mokti who is posted in Dhaka since 2001 lauded the progress of Bangladesh achieved under the leadership of Khaleda Zia.
The Prime Minister told the ambassador that Brunei could invest in Bangladesh taking advantage of the incentives offered to the foreign investors.
The Prime Minister also said steps would be taken to organise a single country trade fair in Brunei to display Bangladeshi products to enhance trade relation.
The ambassador assured the Prime Minister of taking all possible measures for increasing the volume of trade between the two brotherly countries.
Khaleda Zia renewed her invitation to the Sultan of Brunei to visit Bangladesh.
