Sunken cargo-vessel salvaged from Sandwip Channel
11/9/2005

CHITTAGONG, Nov 8 (UNB): A joint team of Navy and Coast Guards salvaged the sunken ferry-cum-cargo vessel, from Sandwip Channel, officials said Tuesday.
Naval divers said they could not find any survivor or body of the missing victims inside the vessel when it was lifted from water Monday-Tuesday midnight.
Earlier reports said the cargo vessel or trawler, with about 150 passengers, capsized in the Channel of the Bay of Bengal Monday afternoon and that 40 of the victims were reported 'missing'.
Still the Coast Guard Tuesday morning resumed their search in and around the accident site for possible victims.
