BASIS SOFTEXPO 2005 to promote innovations in ICT

          Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS) is going to organise the SOFTEXPO 2005 from November 27 to December 01 to showcase innovative products of the software developers in the country, reports BDNEWS.
The BASIS SOFTEXPO 2005 to be held in Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre is aimed at searching new innovations by the students, professionals, academicians in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, particularly in the area of software.
BASIS vice president T I M Nurul Kabir told the news agency that the objective of the programme is to search for and identify creative individuals or groups working in the ICT sector whose innovation deserves a recognition and audience. The program aims to foster creativity, ingenuity among the young practitioners, he noted.
BASIS would like to use the "BASIS SOFTEXPO 2005" as a platform to bring the projects to the audience. Individuals or groups with innovative ICT projects can take part in this programme and make a mark in the industry, he added.
Under this program, selected ICT projects will be specially exhibited at the "BASIS SOFTEXPO 2005" for free.
Interested participants can directly apply to BASIS with details of their projects, including technical aspects, services and people involved in the project and CV of those involved in the projects by November 15.

Short-listed applicants will be invited to present their projects on November 20 and 21. Final list of participants will be declared on November 21, 2005.
Around 125 companies, including more than 20 foreign firms, are expected to participate in this annual show.
