CHENNAI, Dec 9 (BDNEWS): A World XI defeated a combined India-Pakistan team 5-3 in a field hockey benefit match played Thursday to raise funds for victims of October's South Asia earthquake. Mathias Witthaus of Germany scored two goals for the world team while Jamie Dwyer of Australia, Karel Klaver of the Netherlands and Sebastian Biederlack of Germany netted one each, Arjun Halappa and Viren Rasquina of India and Tariq Aziz of Pakistan scored for the South Asian side. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) was still to determine the amount raised from the match. A local business house, India Cements, presented a cheque of 10,000 US dollars to the FIH towards the relief fund.
