Investment in company shares
12/25/2004

ENOUGH priestly sermons were uttered like prophets or messengers on the occasion of ceremonial opening of "SEAFOOD EXPO 2004" in respect of earning through exports. Unfortunately a good number of public limited companies could manage to raise millions of taka as share capital indicating good return on investments but they swallowed public money as no dividend is paid for years rather taka one hundred invested is worth only taka fifteen in the case of Gachihata Aquafarms and similar is the situation in case of Mona Food, Gulf food, Bionic Sea Food, Meghna Shrimp, Beach Hatchery, Bex Fisheries Dhaka Fisheries, Rangamati Food etc. Even some of these pubic limited companies are managed by Jatiya Sangsad members and chamber executives i.e. VIP CIP, civil society executives. However, whatever may be the situation it is time to expose the misdeeds and create conditions for people to invest in the capital market.
