Zillur criticises attacks on AL leaders
12/25/2005

Awami League presidium member and former MP Zillur Rahman has condemned the indiscriminate attacks, oppressions, tortures and injuries inflicted upon the party workers and leaders by the terrorists of ruling BNP and its alliance partners on the eve of the upcoming municipal election of Kuliarchar on December 28, reports BDNEWS.
Zillur, in a statement Saturday expressed deep concern at the incidents and said sensing miserable defeat of their candidate and huge support for the AL candidate in the coming election, the alliance government has chosen the path of terrorism.
The governments backed terrorists have been assaulting the leaders and workers of AL in front of the administration, he said.
Zillur Rahman alleged that the police have not taken cases against the terrorists and no steps have been taken against the attackers following the order of the high ups.
Now Kuliarchar has become a safe haven for the alliance terrorists, he added.
The AL leader demanded that the administration take initiatives for holding free and fair election.
He urged the people of Kuliarchar to work sincerely to make the AL candidate victorious defying the terrorist attacks by the ruling party cadres.
