Muktis emerge as group runners-up
12/25/2005

Muktijoddha Sangsad KC completed the second round in the Nitol-Tata Fifth National Football League with a convincing 4-0 victory over Rangamati Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Saturday.
Muktijoddha's African striker Odaka Oklo claimed the league's second hattrick in the match, according to BDNEWS.
Muktijoddha Sangsad, who confirmed their super-league berth earlier, became group-B runners-up with eight points from four outings, two points behind the leaders Abahani Limited, who collected 10 points playing an equal number of matches.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club also reached the super-league from the same group securing seven points.
Munshiganj Somabesh Club also qualified for the super league from group A when they beat Kacharipara Sporting Club of Jamalpur 1-0 in the day's second match.
Monir Hossain scord the all important goal in the 80th minute.
Brothers Union and Bangladesh Army, earlier, qualified for the super league.
Odaka struck the hattrick in 18 minutes after Abahani striker Bulbul made the league first hattrick against Feni Soccer Club in the Khulna-leg match. Muktis winger Amin Rana netted the remaining goal for the last year's runners-up.
Muktijoddha Sangsad dominated the match thoroughly, but the All Red outfits had to wait for 59 minutes to open the account against Rangamati Mohammedans, who returned home without any point to their credit.
Muktijoddha Sangsad, however, could have got their first goal in the 40th minute had the Jeremiah shot from outside the box not went outside kissing the cross-bar.
Amin Rana opened the account in 59th minute with a low header from zero angle as Mohammedans custodian Towan missed the flight of a left-flank cross from Tanvir.
Odaka doubled the margin ten minutes later with a grounder as the striker sent the ball into home capitalising a back-heel from Saiful, who was set inside the box by defender Charles Ghansa.
