BTA demands removal of Edn minister
12/29/2005

Bangladesh Teachers Association (BTA) has demanded the removal of the Education Minister alleging that he had failed to keep his word of providing full bonus to the teachers and staff of private schools, reports UNB.
"Like the previous years, this year also the teachers and staff of the private schools are going to receive bonus of only 22.5 percent and 45 percent respectively of their salary… the Education Minister earlier declared to give full bonus to them," BTA President Azizul Islam said at a press conference Wednesday.
BTA organised the press conference at the Jatiya Press Club to draw the government's attention on some of their 12- point demand.
The demands include introduction of a fresh reformed unified education system, granting full bonus to the teachers and staff of private schools and timely distribution of text books to the primary and secondary students.
