Non-govt primary teachers threaten to siege PM's office today
12/29/2005

Non-government Primary School Teachers Association has extended its ultimatum till 11 am today for meeting its demand for nationalisation of jobs, reports UNB.
If the one-point nationalisation demand is not met by the deadline, the teachers will march towards the Prime Minister office to lay a siege there, said the Association leaders.
The Association earlier threatened to lay siege to the Prime Minister's office after 11 am on Wednesday.
The Associations' members have begun `fast unto death' program since Tuesday. Twenty-two non-government primary school teachers from across the country are taking part in the program while many others are staging sit-in to press home their demand, both on the central Shaheed Minar premises.
Meanwhile, while visiting the demonstrating primary school teachers at the central Shaheed Minar in the afternoon, Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil MP expressed solidarity with their movement for nationalisation of non-government primary schools.
