Price indices at bourses sustain gaining trend

          The price indices on the country's two bourses sustained the gaining trend Thursday, the last trading day of the week.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) All Share Price Index closed at 1275.04 points, registering 8.21 points or 0.65 per cent gain from 1266.83 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index increased by 13.95 points or 0.84 per cent to close at 1677.34 points from 1663.40 points of the previous day.
The DSE-20 Index gained by 13.52 points or 0.85 per cent to close at 1608.63 points from 1595.10 points.
About 1.67 million shares and debentures worth Tk 293.73 million changed hands on the day against 1.23 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 196.81 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 161 issues were traded on the day including 74 gainers, 70 losers and 17 remaining unchanged on the day, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 228.57 billion from Tk 227.19 billion.
Pubali Bank was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day with its 12,090 shares valued at Tk 26.17 million being traded. The price of the issue went up by 5.55 per cent to close at Tk 2,165.00. Its price varied between Tk 2,218.00 and Tk 2,089.00 on the day.
Exim Bank was a significant performer on the day. Its 38,200 shares valued at Tk 19.96 million changed hands. The price of the issue rose by 0.98 per cent to close at Tk 510.50. Its price fluctuated between Tk 515.00 and Tk 509.50 on the day.
Aims First Mutual Fund was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day. Its 202,500 shares worth Tk 236,500.00 were traded. The price of the issue fell by 0.85 per cent to close at Tk 1.16 on the day.
BSC was the top gainer on the day, as its price rose by 13.82 per cent to close at Tk 535.25. Its 60 shares valued at Tk 32,100.00 changed hands on the day.
Raspit Limited was the top losing issue. The price of the issue decreased by 16.66 per cent to close at Tk 0.50. Its 54,500 shares valued at Tk 29,600.00 changed hands on the day.
The price indices on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also went up on the day.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also increased on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index moved up by 0.46 per cent to finish at 3378.68 points from 3363.16 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index gained by 1.02 per cent to close at 3159.55 points from 3127.55 points.
A total of 0.93 million shares and debentures worth Tk 68.65 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 0.74 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 48.08 million of the previous day.
