Dollar stronger, call rate up

          The US dollar slightly lost ground against the Bangladesh taka Sunday in the local inter-bank foreign exchange market. The inter-bank call money rate, however, marked nominal rise in a moderately active market. The dollar maintained a steady level in the informal market, fund managers said.
In the formal inter-bank market, the exchange rate of the greenback against the taka varied between Tk 65.85 and Tk 65.88 against the previous day's range between Tk 65.87 and Tk 65.88. The dollar was firm in public deals and was transacted between Tk 64.10 and Tk 67.25.
In the informal market, the dollar was traded between Tk 67.20 and Tk 67.60 against previous day's range of Tk 67.10 and Tk 67.60.
The inter-bank call money rate mainly ranged between 6.00 per cent and 13.50 per cent against the previous day's range between 5.50 per cent and 13.50 per cent.
