Ctg take 309-run lead over Dhaka

          Visitors Chittagong took overall 309 run-lead against Dhaka after scoring 235 for five in the second innings at stump at the Dhanmondi Stadium Tuesday.
Dhaka were all out for 303 in the first innings, giving the visitors a 74-run lead, reports BDNEWS.
Except the match between Rajshahi and Sylhet, two other Ispahani Mirzapore Tea Seventh National Cricket League four-dayers were heading for draws at the end of the third day in different venues across the country Tuesday.
Away at Khulna Divisional Stadium, Khulna also obtained an overall 211-run lead over Barisal after bowling out the visitors for 274 in the first innings.
Khulna, however, were tottering 94 for four in the second innings with unbeaten batsmen Manjarul Rana and Jamauddin Babu when the bails were drawn for Day-3.
The hosts Rajshahi took overall 130 runs lead against Sylhet, who scored 296 replying to Rajshahi's first innings total of 242. Rajshahi scored 184 for six in the second innings at stump on the third day at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium.
Dhaka vs Chitagong
At the end of day-3, Chittagong skipper Nafis Iqbal said that they would not take any risk on the final day today (Wednesday) as they were ahead of Dhaka's first innings.
Dhaka realised the absence of opener Javed Omar when batting, they also realised the absence of duo pacer Shahadat Hossain Razib and Talha Jubair during the bowling.
Despite Chittagong's an early collapse to 109 for five, Dhaka could not restrict them as Faisal Hossain Dickens and Dhiman Gosh together put on 126 runs for the unbeaten sixth wicket.
Dhiman, who survived from leg before appeal on a few occasions, remained unbeaten with 72 off 96 with nine hits to the fence while Faisal scored an unbeaten 61 off 116 balls featuring eight fours.
Mohammad Rafique made Chittagong's early damage sending back both the openers on 12 runs and later picked up the settled batsman Ehsanul Haq to finish the day with three for 89. Haq hit a fine 62 including 10 fours.
Earlier, getting the double life, national all-rounder Khaled Mahmud salvaged his side from total embarrassment scoring 81 off 86 balls to bring Dhaka's innings to over three hundred figure.
Khaled Mahmud, who played with runner after receiving an ankle injury in facing his day's third delivery, got the first life before opening the account as substitute fielder Sabbir Khan dropped Mahmud at mid-on off a Yasin Arafat delivery. Sabbir again dropped Mahmud for one at the point off a pacer Waskrunee.
After surviving twice, Mahmud did not see back as the experienced all-rounder along with Anwar Hossain Monir (7) contributed 85 runs in the tenth wicket stand.
Mahmud hammered eight fours and two sixes before being caught behind off Waskrunee.
Khulna vs Barisal
Barisal gave the hosts a 105-run lead in the first innings after being all out for 274. Barisal resumed the day with 167 for five to add another 107 runs. Nadif Chowdhury made 43 off 100 with five fours and a six.
Khulna lost four batsmen including skipper Habibul Bashar (10), Tushar Imran (6) for 68 and first innings centurion batsman Manjarul Islam Rana (29) along with Jamaluddin (6) tried to repair the damage putting 28 runs for the unbeaten in the sixth wicket stand.
Arafat Salahuddin grabbed three wickets for 13 while Hannan Sakar took one for 33.
Rajshahi vs Sylhet
Sylhet having started on 232 for six ended their first innings to 296 for all as pacer Hasibul Hossain Shanto played 31 off 25 balls that included four fours and one six.
Rajshahi fell into trouble after going to bat for the second time as they lost first five wickets for 81 at one stage and Hasanuzzaman Rozel and Musfiqur Rahman repaired the middle order damage adding 98 runs for the six wicket stand before the national discard Musfiq was removed by Nazmul.
Ashiqur Rahman and Nazmul Hossain grabbed two wickets each for 34 and 49 while Rezanul Haque and Enamul Haq took one wicket each for 20 and 49 runs respectively.
