Defending champions Leonine Chess Club maintained their solo lead in the Dutch-Bangla Bank First Division Chess League with 42 points at the end of 12th round matches at chess federation hall-room in the city Thursday, reports BDNEWS. Biman Bangladesh Airlines were in the second-position with 40.5 points, followed by Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, who collected 40 points from 12th round matches. Leonine Chess Club thrash Anushillan Daba KC straight 4-0 as GM RB Rames, GM Uldachev Saidali, GM Niaz Murshed and IM S Kaidambi defeat Din Mohammad, Alimul Haque Kazal, Farhadur Imran and Sk Anwar Hossain respectively. Biman Bangladesh outplayed Dhaka University Chess Club also straight 4-0 as GM Ziaur Rahman, IM Abdullah Al Rakib and Mehdi Hasan Parag beat Kayes Hossain, M Riad and Samiun Bashir respectively and GM Dibyendu Barua got walk-over against Anwar Hossain Dulal. Muktijoddha Sangsad defeated Dolphin Chess Club also straight 4-0. GM Abhijit Kunte, GM Aloyzas Kevinys, IM Enamul Hossain, and FM Abu Sufian Shakil beat Asaduzzaman, Humayun Kabir, Fariduddin and Abul Kashem respectively. In the day's other round, Destiny beat BJMC 2.5-1.5, Titas Club beat Farashganj SC 3-1, Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club beat Narayanganj City Chess Club 2.5-1.5, Mohakhali Prodeep Sangha beat Faith Chess Club 2.5-1.5 and Shahid Mufti Kashed Daba Dal beat Friends Chess Power 3.5-.5.
