Bhuiyan expects opposition to play active role in JS
2/12/2006

LOHAJANG, Feb 11 (BSS): LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan hailed Awami League for its decision to join the parliament and expressed his firm hope that the party would play its active role inside the House.
Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan made this opinion while he was speaking at a public meeting arranged by local upazila unit BNP of Lohajang thana under Munshigonj district in connection with laying foundation of the upazila complex Saturday.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mizanur Rahman Sinha attended the function while upazila unit BNP President Sirajul Alam Fuku was in the chair.
District BNP President Abdul Hai MP, General Secretary Mujibur Rahman Mollah, Acting President of JASAS MA Malek, General Secretary Babul Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
Mannan Bhuiyan laid the foundation stone of the Louhajang Upazila Complex Bhaban to be constructed at a cost of Tk 33 million (3.30 crore).
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said: "The nation hopes that your decision will not be only to protect your parliament membership."
Bhuiyan observed: "Awami League may get a few seats more in the next election if they work constitutionally and seek apology to the people for their previous political activities."
"Otherwise, Awami League will have to concede a colossal defeat in the next election if they try to bluff the nation", he told a cheering crowd.
