2/12/2006

A two-day symposium on SAARC Micro-credit begins in the city Wednesday to exchange views on micro-credit operations in the region, reports UNB.
Central bank governors from the SAARC countries are expected to join the symposium, said a Bangladesh Bank source.
Finance and Planning Minister M Saifur Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the programme as the chief guest while Grameen Bank Managing Director Muhammad Yunus would present the keynote paper.
Each of the SAARC countries and Afghanistan would have presentation on their respective micro-credit perspectives in two working sessions of the symposium.
