2/12/2006

HA NOI, Feb 11 (VNA): The Electricity of Vietnam Corporation (EVN) has been speeding up the construction of six 220kv-power-network projects for the purchase of electricity from China.
These projects, capitalised at 890.9 billion VND (US$55.7 million), are planned to become operational in 2006 and 2007.
They include installing 227.8 kilometres of 220-kv lines from Hekou county of China's Yunnan province to Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces and Viet Tri city of Phu Tho province in northern Vietnam, and two 220-kv transformer stations in Lao Cai province and Vinh Yen town of Vinh Phuc province.
According to EVN, the six projects are among the Government's urgent power projects in the 2006-2010 period.
