Thailand, Japan set to sign FTA by April
2/12/2006

BANGKOK, Feb 11 (VNA): An agreement on a Thailand-Japan Free Trade Area (FTA) will be signed by the respective Prime Ministers in April as the deal has been finalised by both countries' negotiators, Thailand's chief negotiator to the talks Pisal Manupat said Friday.
The official confirmed that the FTA will not give Japan an advantage over Thailand because there is no change in articles on tariffs levied on product items.
This agreement aims to develop Thailand's industries, including automobiles, electronics, textiles, energy and food processing, he elaborated.
