Ballseye -- Saiful Kaiser
2/13/2006

One lost count the times Pointing and Semen was reprieved by the umpires. But if this benevolence were showered on any other cricket team including Burkina Faso they would have scored 500 runs.
But the men from down under need this munificence otherwise the myth of being the best would be laughed at everywhere. Whatever, it also looked like the Sri Lankans let them off the hook otherwise their opponents would have cried all over the place wailing that no one loved them. They cry a lot these guys especially in the dressing room unlike their reputation of being churlish (they call it aggression; imagine.). The series is still not over.
As for Pakistan, they are a bit wary after losing to India so emphatically at Rawalpindi. It looked like India would have overhauled the target even if they had score 350.
To be fair, except for Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan the rest looked listless. There was little contribution from Butt, Yusuf, Inzamam, Afridi or Razzak. It did look like they had come to the field after a Rip Van Winkle type rest.
"Amra koi ailam bhai? Cricket kheltay? Khaissay! Indiar logay? Aiza haroom, eida sheee-ooor!"
But it was great to see Sehwag, the man who sends terror through the hearts of bowlers (specially Australians), making a solid contribution.
