Akbar inaugurates new landing station in Cox’s Bazar
2/13/2006

COX'S BAZAR, Feb 12 (BSS): Shipping Minister Akbar Hossain today said the present government as part of its commitment to ensure peoples' development has been providing all infrastructure facilities for smooth communication in coastal areas.
"The government is implementing all such programmes", he said while inaugurating the jetty of a newly constructed landing station on the bank of the river Bakkhali at Nuniar Chara near the district town.
Officials said a large number of people of the district, especially those of Moheshkhali and Kutubdia, would be benefited from the new landing station.
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has constructed the landing station at a total cost of Tk 4.2 million.
