Chittagong dominate against Barisal

          Chittagong Division scored 315 for five in 92 overs against Barisal Division on the first day in a four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 7th National Cricket League at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium Thursday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, Chittagong Division made a good start despite losing opener Nafis Iqbal (3) with team score at 24.
Another opener Masumuddowla, pairing with one down Gazi Salahudin, contributed 120 runs in the 2nd wicket stand.
Masumuddowla scored team highest 80 runs off 111 balls with 15 fours, Gazi Salahuddin added 69 runs off 126 balls with 11 fours and two sixes while Nazimuddin made 60 off 92 balls that included 11 fours.
Middle order Ehsanul Haque Sezan and Dhiman Ghosh were batting with 44 and 0 runs respectively when the bails were drawn for the day.
Sajid Islam grabbed two wickets for 58 runs in 17 overs while Humayan Kabir, Nadif Chowdhury and Arafat Salahuddin took one wicket apiece.
Brief score: Chittagong Division 1st innings - 315 runs for 5 in 92 overs, Masumuddowla 80, Gazi Salahuddin 69, Nazimuddin 60, Shezan batting 44, Wasseluddin 34, Dhiman batting 0, Sajid 2/58, Humayun 1/15, Nadif 1/34, Arafat 1/45.
In another 4-day match at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, Rajshahi Division were dismissed for 283 runs in 80.5 overs in the first innings after sent into bat first by Dhaka Division.
Opener Zahirul Islam topscored 51 runs off 109 balls with 10 fours while another opener Junayed Siddique made 2nd highest 43 off 73 balls with nine fours.
Farhad Hossain (34), Anisur Rahman (32) and Shamimul Haque (25) were the other notable scorers for Rajshahi.
In reply, Dhaka Division were struggling in their 1st innings losing two wickets for 21 runs in seven overs.
Kamrul Hasan and Mokhlesur Rahman were at the crease with 3 and 0 run respectively when bails were drawn for the day.
Shafaq Al Zabir and Mohammad Shahzada took one wicket each.
Brief score: Rajshahi Division 1st innings - 283 for all in 80.5 overs, Zahirul 51, Junayed 43, Farhad 34, Anisur 32, Shamimul 25, extras 26, Mahmudullah 4/64, Uttam 3/24, Shahadat 2/48, Talha Jubair 1/57.
Dhaka Division 1st innings - 21 runs 2 in 7 overs, Uttam 13, Kamrul batting 3, Mokhlesur batting 0.
