Expert sees country out of bird flu risk
FE Report
2/17/2006

Bangladesh is now out of the risk of any spread of bird flu, said Dubai Zoo chief Ali Reza Khan at a seminar in the city recently.
Forum of Environmental Journalists of Bangladesh (FEJB) organised the seminar presided over by its Chairman Quamrul Islam Chowdhury.
Livestock Services Department Director Md Abdul Motalib also spoke on the occasion. 'we should not be complacent about it,' the Dubai Zoo chief said while presenting the keynote paper on 'face and defeat the bird flu scare.'
Experts at the seminar urged all concerned to take combined preventive measures for protecting the people from the risk of spread of bird flu virus in future.
They suggested protection of poultry farms across the country from any risk of contacting the disease from migratory birds.
They also said the government has taken precautionary measures to check spread of bird flu in the country with the help of some donor countries.
