2/21/2006

JHINAIDAH, Feb 20: An outlawed party leader was killed in an encounter between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Shailakupa Upazila in the district early Monday. The deceased was identified as Fayezuddin Biswas alias Fayez (38), a top leader of Gono Mukti Fouz, the armed wing of outlawed Sramajibi Mukti Andalan. Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-3 arrested Fayez from the Sabujbagh area of Dhaka Sunday morning. Fayez, son of Nayeb Ali of Dudshar village, was wanted in five cases, including two murders. — UNB
